Leadership Team

Small and Medium sized businesses know something that “the big boys” don’t  – economic downturns are THE BEST times to increase your sales and marketing budgets.  60% of Large companies have cut and are continuing to cut their Marketing budgets, while more than a half of their smaller brethren are doing the exact opposite – they are zigging while the others zag – and they are increasing their budgets, in order to take market share and emerge from this downturn stronger than when they went into it.

…and more of those spending increases are going into direct-response advertising (the kind that gets more customers) and NOT display advertising (like you’d find in magazines or newspapers)

Traditional marketing agencies either need to change or die.  Business-to-Business (B2B) Marketing has changed.

According to a report by Marketing Sherpa (October, 2010), most businesses have already made significant shifts in their marketing and budgets – here’s how:

  • 69% are increasing the use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • 60% are increasing the use of webinars and other web-based events
  • 60% are increasing the use of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • 49% are increasing their use of paid search (PPC)

These all represent forms on in-bound marketing – and in-bound marketing tends to be more cost-effective than the more traditional out-bound marketing, with the average cost-per-inbound-lead being about 38% of the typical outbound generated lead
